Familiar faces from Lexus Charity Golf Days of previous years were thrilled to be back for more, and the reason was no mystery. From the moment participants arrived at the Garden Course at Tanah Merah Country Club, they were showered with true Lexus hospitality, with warm smiles from staff volunteers from various departments.

The participants were treated to a delectable lunch at the Garden Golfer’s Terrace before proceeding to the green to commence the golf game. The golf game started officially with the tee off ceremony, where Mr Koh Ching Hong, Managing Director of Borneo Motors (Singapore) Pte Ltd, did the honours of hitting the first ball.

This year, Lexus has arranged a range of treats to indulge our participants. The highlight of the event would definitely be the array of attractive Hole-in-one prizes to be won. These included an Imperial bottle of Chateau Ausone 1999 together with 5 bottles of Ausone 2000 worth $50,000; a luxury holiday to Montery USA worth $50,000; the World’s First Luxury Hybrid Compact, the Lexus CT 200h; and a Corum Golden Bridge watch worth $46, 963. Many gifts and prizes were given out throughout the 18 holes of golf, with a Mystery Prize hole and fun challenges like Nearest the Pin at each par 3 hole, Nearest the Line and Longest Drive to add some spice to the game.

Despite the tough economic conditions, a generous amount of $80,000 was raised and presented to our adopted charity – The Mainly I Love Kids Fund (MILK). This donation would certainly go a long way in helping MILK to support their mission to reach out to disadvantaged children & youth in hope of developing them into contributing members of society.

The day’s events were captured on screen to the delight of many, and the top golfers were awarded with the tournament prizes. Category prizes like ‘Pak Kao Bun Golfer’ followed, to enthusiastic pumping of fists into the air and clapping of backs. Then everyone waited with bated breath as the last lucky draw name out of 70 prizes in total was picked for the top prize – the latest 40” LED TV.

Thus it was a blissful end to the Lexus family gathering as members left, each bringing back fond memories encapsulated in personalised photo albums and looking forward to next year’s golf challenge.
