The Occasion: Lexus, in partnership with Citigold Private Client, and in association with Wine Culture, hosted The Tasting of the Grand & Premier Crus of Maison Lucien Le Moine on 24 May 2010 – It was a wonderful evening of fabulous food, premium wine and exceptional entertainment. In conjunction, Lexus showcased its elegant LS Full Hybrid and IS-Convertible to the ardent admiration of the guests.

The Venue: Mandarin Oriental Ballroom

The Spoils: It was a night of anticipation and excitement for wine lovers and car enthusiasts as the evening’s events unfolded. The luxurious LS Full Hybrid and classy IS-Convertible were proudly on display at both corners of the ballroom much to the delight of guests who were eagerly viewing the cars upclose. A warm welcome address from Mr William Choo , Commercial Director of Lexus ,officially started the beautiful evening. Throughout the dinner, guests and VIPs were treated to a remarkable performance by Lyric Tenor, Melvin Tan, and his accompanist, Shane Thio. Together, they enthralled the audience with their sensational performance of seven specially selected pieces of which included the ever famous “Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera. A special menu was created to complement the fine selection of premium wines and the evening saw the sharing of interesting wine notes by the wine maker himself, Mr Mounir Saouma from Maison Lucien Le Moine.

Wine & Dine: The exquisite 4 course dinner started off with the appetizing Carpaccio of Yellow Fin Tuna with seared divers scallops and red-black caviar accompanied by Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Embrazees 2006. Served next was the finely pan-seared Foie Gras on Cepe with poached red wine pear and arugula leaves paired with the rich, full and naturally sweet flavours of the Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Grande Ruchottes 2006. For the much awaited main course, guests enjoyed the Oven Baked Beef Fillet with sweet potato and crispy Lobster tempura, together with two wines –Morey St Denis 1er Cru Clos des Ormes 2006 and Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots 2006. The meal ended on a sweet note with the Apple and Hazelnut Delight served with Fig Sorbet and perfectly accompanied by one of the most premium wines, Clos Saint Denis Grand Cru 2006.

Lucky draw items and sponsors: The event drew to a close with an exciting lucky draw. The attractive prizes included two wine hampers from Wine Culture, one weekend buffet dinner voucher for 2 at Melt Cafe from Mandarin Oriental and two Lucien Le Moine wines from Lexus Singapore.
